The Royal Navy Royal Marine Charity show was a complete success and we were only seven minutes over, despite Bobby Davro being on the show! The place was packed, the Marine band were sensational, as was Rick Wakeman. Bobby Davro was hilarious, Claire Sweeney as sexy as hell and Jethro proved why he’s one of the greatest joke tellers in the world…oh, and I wasn’t bad either!! Read more…
Dubai Desert Classic…
I’m here in Dubai and I’m now dictating this whilst recovering from what can only be considered as a massive heart attack! Well not literally, but I thought I was going to have one. I’ll explain later, but first….
Goodbye Dave Lee MBE…
It was a great send off for a great bloke. Dave Lee’s funeral was held in the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral. It was packed with friends, family and people who admired Dave and who came to say goodbye.
I went with Brian Shaw, my friend and promoter. To be truthful, we didn’t know what to expect. When we got to the Cathedral it was rapidly filling up. There was forty minutes to go, so we did what all mourners do, we went to the pub! After a pint and a heart starter we shuffled back to the Cathedral only to be grabbed and sat at the front by a well-meaning usher who asked me when I was speaking. Read more…
